2018 Concerto Competition Winner!
Congratulations to Sadie Goodman on winning the 2018 NYS Concerto Competition. She will perform Borne Carmen Fantasy with Principal Orchestra at the NYS Winter Concert on March 3, at 3pm.
Sadie has performed with the Norwalk Youth Symphony for four years and is currently Principal Flute of the Principal Orchestra. She has also been Principal Flute of the WCSMA (Westchester County School Music Association) Intermediate All-County Band.
Recently, Sadie was the first place winner of the Alexander and Buono International Flute Competition 2018, for which she performed at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, New York the same year. Sadie has won first place in the New York Flute Club Young
Musicians Contest and both the junior and senior divisions of the Norwalk Symphony
Orchestra Young Artist Competition. She also received the Boxwood Festival
(Lunenburg, Nova Scotia) Kasper Memorial Scholarship.
Sadie has performed in master classes for Cobus du Toit (University of Massachusetts/Amherst), Nina Assimakopoulos (West Virginia University), and Alice Dade (University of Missouri). She has further participated in both the Chamber Music Institute for Young Musicians and World Chamber Music and Improvisation sessions in Connecticut.
Sadie studies with Adrianne Greenbaum (Professor of Music, Mount Holyoke College) in Fairfield, CT. She is a freshman honors student at John Jay High School in Cross River, New York. She enjoys rowing crew with the Maritime Rowing Club.
